After a lot of hard work promoting Dignity in our homes, our lead Dignity Champion, Sean King, was nominated last year for the award of Dignity In Care at The London Regional Great British Care Awards in 2019. Sadly he did not win the award, but he did make it into the top seven for the region and got to attend the awards ceremony.
We continue to promote dignity in all our homes at every possible moment but as the pandemic hit in February a lot of the events we had planned out of the homes and involving others had to be cancelled. This was a shame as we had a full calendar waiting to be announced of fun and inclusive activities that would promote dignity not only in our homes but in many social care settings.
We have now set up a page on our website, which you can find HERE, that explains what a Dignity Champion is, why we have them and what they get up too.
When we are finally able to start having events again be sure to check back as we will be showcasing all that our Dignity Champions get up too and all their different events.
