On September 12th the government published it’s official response to the Learning from Deaths Review report (found here) which shows a radical plan is still needed to improve the chances of those with Learning Disabilities suffering premature deaths in the UK.
A team at Bristol University published the report over six months ago and have been working on creating a national system for Reviewing the deaths of people with a learning disability in the UK.
They have made nine recommendations on what is needed to improve how people’s deaths were reviewed and to make a start on stopping the shocking scale of needless deaths experienced by people with learning disabilities.
